Gas trunklines Ukhta – Torzhok and Ukhta – Torzhok-2 are essential for development of Russian gas supply system in northern corridor – from Yamal peninsula to the coast of the Baltic Sea. They are designed for additional gas volumes delivery to North-Western part of Russia as well as for export.
Trunklines continue two lines of gas trunkline system Bovanenkovo-Ukhta and go along the territory of Komi Republic, Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Yaroslavl and Tver regions. Each of them is 1400 km long, 970 km of which is distance to Gryazovets city of Vologda region. Here begins Gryazovets-Vyborg gas trunkline, connected to Nord Stream. This gives an opportunity to transmit gas from Yamal fields to Western Europe.
Stroygazconsulting has been working on Ukhta-Torzhok gas trunkline system’s projects from 2011. SGC constructed 487 km of first line section and 4 compressor stations. Works at Ukhta-Torzhok-2 gas pipeline are still in progress, 400 km of pipes are to be constructed as well as capacities of Novosindorskaya, Novomikunskaya, Novourdomskaya and Sosnogorskaya are to be increased.
